2025 Projects
In addition to our engagement work, events and partnering with the city and county on a variety of topics. In 2025, we will be working on the following projects. (please note these are subject to change and more added!)

Neighborhood Clean Ups and Environmental Programming
We have received additional funding from the city to host 4 litter clean ups in the neighborhood in 2025. We will also be hosting a film on waste reduction, a reuse swap in the neighborhood and a kitchen composting workshop. Watch our e-newsletter for updates and meeting dates. To address our many environmental issues, we have partnered with AmeriCorps on hosting a member through midyear.

Air Monitoring Project/Northern Iron
We will be working to educate residents nearest to the Northern Iron Foundry located in District 5 on how to monitor their air quality at their residences and provide resources. Funding for this project will be from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, more information will be forthcoming in the first quarter of 2025.

The Heights Development
We will continue to work with Habitat for Humanity, the St Paul Port Authority and the City of St Paul on the construction of the Heights Development at the former Hillcrest Golf Course site. We will cohost events and provide updates on the project as it proceeds.

Hillcrest Center/Hafners Site/Advocating for Improvements to White Bear Ave
Many changes may be occurring at Hillcrest Center and the Hafners Site. White Bear Avenue continues to need safety improvements including making it more pedestrian friendly, slowing down speed and making it more aesthetically pleasing. We will continue to advocate for improvements on White Bear and at Hillcrest Center & the Hafners Site in 2025.

D2 & U Podcast
Introduced in 2024, the D2 & U Podcast has been a great engagement tool to add to our toolbox and we are planning exciting interviews, radio shows and more.
