Welcome to the Greater East Side of St. Paul
Your Voice. Your Community. Your Council.
The Greater East Side—also known as District 2—is one of 17 official planning districts in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Located in the city's dynamic Northeast corner, our district encompasses ten diverse and historic neighborhoods: Beaver Lake Heights, East Phalen, Frost Lake, Hayden Heights, Hazel Park, Hillcrest, Lincoln Park, Parkway/Greenbrier, and Phalen Village.
Bordered by Larpenteur Avenue to the north, McKnight Road to the east, Minnehaha Avenue to the south, and Johnson Parkway along with the former Burlington Northern railroad berm to the west, the Greater East Side is a place where community pride, culture, and resilience are deeply rooted.
Our mission is to strengthen and support the Greater East Side through inclusive engagement, meaningful advocacy, and collaborative leadership that lifts up the voices of all who call this community home.
We are working toward a connected, empowered, and thriving community—where every resident has a voice and a role in shaping a vibrant, equitable future for the East Side.
